Appearance[]

Lynch wears a dress uniform which is a light brown double-breasted shawl lapel coat, and matching pants folded in military style. On the coat, there are three dark brown buttons on the front, light-brown epaulettes secured by gold buttons, a lapel pin on the left side lapel, service ribbons on the upper right side, a name tag on the upper left side, an emblem on the upper left sleeve, and a brown belt that has an engraved gold buckle on the waist area. There is a black-brown collared shirt and brown tie underneath the coat. He also wears a navy-green beret that has an emblem, brown elbow gloves, a gold bangle on the left glove and black combat boots.
Overview[]
- Main article: Crisis Zone
The infamous leader of the terrorist organization called the U.R.D.A., Derrick Lynch was responsible for masterminding the occupation of Garland Square on 16 October 2000.[1] Lynch invaded the complex with no demands and no hostages, causing a string of confusion within intelligence officials from around the world, including but not limited to the United Nations, the British SAS, and the V.S.S.E.. What is known is that Lynch intended to blockade and occupy the complex with a hidden agenda. He has two bodyguards named Tiger and Edge (spelled as Edgey in the Arcade version).
In the game, Lynch planned to overload an experimental nuclear reactor at the complex's test site, Geyser 1. Special Tactical Force (S.T.F.) operatives were able to shut down the machine, killing Lynch in the process. After Lynch's death, Jared Hunter becomes second-in-command.
In combat, he uses a strange-looking high-gauge semi-automatic shotgun which fires 7 shots per shell (oddly, the Arcade version shows a shot fired from the center despite having no barrel present. This is corrected in the PlayStation 2 version) and RGD-33 stick grenades.

Trivia[]
- Even as an indirect spin-off, Lynch is the fourth antagonist to have facial hair. The first is Zeus Bertrand from Time Crisis: Project Titan, the second is Giorgio Zott from Time Crisis 3 (despite Time Crisis 3 being released later than Crisis Zone, Lynch only has facial hair in the PlayStation 2 version of this game) and the third is Tiger.
- Even as an indirect spin-off, Lynch is the second character whose first name (in the Arcade version) and last name (in the PlayStation 2 version) are mentioned. The first is Richard Miller whom in Time Crisis: Project Titan has his first name mentioned by Ricardo Blanco in the Japanese subtitles along with his last name vocally.
- Even as an indirect spin-off, Lynch is the first antagonist to use a shotgun. He is followed by Wild Fang in Time Crisis 5.
- Due to the use of a shotgun, Lynch is also the first antagonist whose each crisis shot can have more than one projectile. Despite this, getting hit by his crisis shot only causes one life loss instead of seven (the number of projectiles per shot) as life loss from a crisis shot is not dependent on the number of projectiles in said shot.
- Lynch is named after an employee of Namco who created Time Crisis II.
